Description
The GR 6b+O is a compact AC bridge rectifier/regulator with charge control output for connecting an LED or LED lamp. It is designed for operation on Rotax, Hirth and Solo engines with lead-acid batteries. For use with LiFePO4 batteries, this GR6 is equipped with an additional over-voltage protection (OVP). This prevents the thyristors from firing at battery voltages >15.2V and thus the charging current from being switched off.
It is characterised by the fact that the regulating thyristors are switched close to the voltage zero crossing, thus minimising voltage peaks on the on-board network.

Functional features:
When the main switch is switched on, the charging control lamp lights up first. It goes out as soon as the generator supplies power. If the battery voltage rises above the control voltage, the generator is disconnected from the battery and charging is interrupted. When the voltage drops, charging starts again. A small potentiometer on the top of the housing can be used to adjust the charging voltage to the battery system used.
Installation:
The controller is screwed in place with 2 screws so that the cooling fins are as vertical as possible to achieve an optimum cooling effect. The installation location should be chosen so that the controller is not additionally heated by nearby heat sources. The generator, battery and charge control are connected via a 5-pin flat connector, the earth connection via the cooling plate.
