Description
The Optimate TM-281 is a diagnostic charger and tester for LiFePO4 batteries and is perfect for charging and maintaining a 24V LiFePO4 battery in the size up to 100 Ah.
Ideal for example to charge EarthX 24V batteries (ETX900-24, ETX680-24-VNT, ETX680-24-TSO) and keep them in optimal condition for the next start.

The 8 charging stages at a glance:
1.Check: The OptiMate lithium battery charger displays the condition of the battery before charging and measures the ambient temperature.
The ampmatic™ charging programme is then selected accordingly according to temperature and battery condition.
2.Resuscitation from deep discharge protection: The safeTo protection mode controls charging during this sensitive battery SAVE stage to ensure,
that a deeply discharged battery is correctly and safely "revived". Tests are performed by the so-called SAVE programme to determine,
whether the battery has successfully recovered and can continue to be charged in normal charging mode.
3.charge: The ampmatic™ processor actively adjusts the charge current to the battery capacity and condition, achieving a full charge in the shortest possible time.
4.Short Circuit & Cell Check: Internal damage is detected and prevents the (unnecessary) charging of a battery that cannot be restored.
5.Absorption and equalisation charge: Current is delivered in pulses of voltage-controlled voltage between 28.0 and 28.6 V for 10 minutes,
which aids cell voltage equalisation and improves the overall performance of the battery.
6.Charge Check: The voltage is limited to 27.2 V while the ampmaticTM processor monitors the current absorbed by the battery.
If this shows a less than optimal charge, the programme returns to absorption charging for a further 10 minutes.
7.Voltage retention test: The test is performed for 30 minutes during which no charge current is supplied, with 5 possible test results indicating the general
state of health of the battery. A green result (voltage > 25.4 V) extends the test up to 12 hours to detect excessive self-discharge or higher than expected power loss.

8.trickle charge: The 12-hour MAINTENANCE CHARGE CYCLE consists of 30-minute float charge periods at a voltage of 27.2 V, followed by 30 minutes of rest (a. charge current).
During the charge period, current is only supplied if the battery has lost charge due to connected vehicle circuits. A refresh cycle may be performed
if the charge has dropped significantly. The voltage retention test and maintenance charge cycle repeat 24 hours after the start of the very first test and continue to repeat as long,
as long as the charger remains connected. The alternating charge and "rest" maintenance programme protects the battery from over-discharge due to connected vehicle circuits, making it
ideal for indefinite and 100% safe long-term maintenance.
