The EPTA-NG (NextGeneration) is the logical further development of the EPTA-LSA with an additional FLARM interface. In case of an imminent collision, the PowerFLARM anti-collision system controls the connected lights and their flashing sequence depending on the alarm level. This further increases the conspicuity of your aircraft, an imminent collision can be avoided and airspace safety is further enhanced.

The Thiesen EPTA-NG is mounted on the rim arc and is a combination of position light, tail light and anti-collision light. Similar in form to the Thiesen EPL, there are 3 aircraft lights in one position light. In addition to the EPL (Electronic Position Light - red/green) functionality, it also includes a tail light (EPL-Taillight) and an anti-collision light (ACL). The weight of an EPTA LSA is <80 grams. The ACL integrated in the EPTA-NG is also prepared for intelligent synchronisation.

Together with the control electronics, the EPTA-NG is encapsulated in highly optical, scratch-resistant epoxy resin and is completely insensitive to vibrations, water, dust and other environmental influences.

The high-performance LEDs produce a brilliant green and red light and are much more effective than conventional lamps. Although heat generation is very low, the power dissipation is monitored by an integrated thermal protector for safety. Despite low self-heating, the lights require cooling air circulation, which must be ensured at all times; especially when mounted behind glass (greenhouse effect).

Furthermore, the EPTA-NG is equipped with an additional overvoltage protection. This switches the EPTA off if the voltage rises above 17 volts. If the voltage drops to a permissible value below 17 volts or if the EPTA is disconnected from the voltage (reset), full function is restored.

For easy connection to a four-core cable with at least 1.5 mm² conductor cross-section, the wing end lights are already pre-wired. The EPTA-NG allows uncomplicated installation with a central fixing screw and additional bonding with coloured, non-shrinking silicone.

A conversion adapter is available for easy conversion of Xenon lamps to our EPTA lights. Detailed installation instructions and the shrink tubing required for installation are included with the EPTA-NG.

As with all Thiesen products, the complete system is integrated in the aircraft light. This means that no external controllers, inverters or power supplies are required. This results in significant savings in weight, effort and COST.
